December is here and so is the LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING. Every penny given to this offering is used to support the 5,600+ Southern Baptist missionaries as they share the Gospel overseas. This year’s goal is $175 million and the theme is “Who’s Missing, Whose Mission?” It focuses on overcoming barriers to hearing and accepting the Gospel in various parts of the world and the mission that the Great Commission gives all Believers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” The shortfall in last year’s offering has resulted in large reductions to the number of new workers that will be sent to the field in 2010. Petition that Southern Baptists will give generously this year, so that those called can go and that the Good News will continue to be proclaimed to those who need to hear.

A couple, who are new members of the MUNICH TEAM (GERMANIC CLUSTER) request intercession for their friends from language school, who are going to their home in a Middle Eastern country for a month. Intercede that the Holy Spirit will continue to prod them with thoughts about the conversations they have had with these team members during their lunch breaks. Petition also that when they return to Germany, they will be hungry and thirsty for more opportunities to hear of the Father’s love for them and that He will use this couple to share their spiritual food and drink with them.

Prague (Czech Republic) is really excited about Christmas! Czech children are excited about Baby Jesus bringing gifts on Christmas Eve, but that’s about where their knowledge of the Savior ends. Intercede that the DIASPORA CLUSTER STRATEGY LEADER, his wife, and other believers will have many opportunities during the holidays to share the true meaning of Christmas and who Jesus really is.

Did you notice?  Something has happened – something unfavorable at least for a few.  The winds of change have blown against the Serbians in Kosovo.  Once part of greater Serbia the Republic of Kosovo declared independence in February 2008, making Serbians living there only a small minority of the population.  The Serbians stand resolutely against the declaration of statehood for Kosovo, and continue to see themselves as part of a pan-Serbian state.  Most are strong adherents of the Serbian Orthodox Church and a minority is Roman Catholic, but few have a saving faith in Christ.  Intercede that a new wind will sweep over the Serbians in Kosovo – a wind stirred by the life-giving breath of the Holy Spirit.

Members of the DIASPORA CLUSTER in AUSTRALIA request intercession for a new group that has been meeting for the last month.  Petition that those attending, who are not-yet-believers, will come to a point of decision and commitment.  Intercede that this group will continue to grow not only in numbers, but also in faith.

On Fri., May 18, members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER will be modeling and assisting potential house group leaders from two churches and a mission point in how to use the discovery Bible study questions to lead small groups regardless of where they might meet.  They rejoice that there are Spanish pastors involved, who not only have given this their blessing, but whose desire is to equip as many people as possible to use this tool for starting groups that hopefully will multiply.  Intercede for those who will either be leading and modeling, as well as those who will begin leading groups.
