UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP:  Approximately 200,000 Italians are currently living in the United Kingdom (UK).  They have been in London and other parts of the UK for centuries and have made some notable contributions to society, such as introducing ice cream to the general public through the entrepreneurial efforts of Carlo Gatti, an Italian Swiss immigrant.  The early immigrants typically came from the mountainous northern part of Italy and settled in the larger cities of London, Manchester, Bedford, and Edinburgh, where they formed “little Italy” communities.  Later arrivals came from the impoverished South in response to labor-recruiting schemes set up by British firms in collaboration with the Italian government in order to cover areas of labor shortage.  Rather than joining their predecessors in the “little Italys,” these new migrants settled near their workplaces, in medium-sized industrial towns.  It is common for the Italians to make regular (once a year) trips back to Italy to meet with extended family.  There is no evidence of evangelistic work focusing on the Italians in the UK.  Ask the Father to raise up workers, whose hearts will be burdened to share the Good News with the Italians living in the UK.  Intercede that the Italians will become members of God’s family and establish their eternal home in His Kingdom.

More Prayer Requests

Members of the DIASPORA CLUSTER in AUSTRALIA request intercession for a new group that has been meeting for the last month.  Petition that those attending, who are not-yet-believers, will come to a point of decision and commitment.  Intercede that this group will continue to grow not only in numbers, but also in faith.

On Fri., May 18, members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER will be modeling and assisting potential house group leaders from two churches and a mission point in how to use the discovery Bible study questions to lead small groups regardless of where they might meet.  They rejoice that there are Spanish pastors involved, who not only have given this their blessing, but whose desire is to equip as many people as possible to use this tool for starting groups that hopefully will multiply.  Intercede for those who will either be leading and modeling, as well as those who will begin leading groups.

Members of the BLACK SEA ORTHODOX CLUSTER in ROMANIA request intercession for their small group that has agreed to start an outreach to non-believers through conversational English classes. The group presented this idea to church leaders and it seems that the whole church will have an opportunity to join in to reach the lost for Christ.  There will be a meeting on May 20 to discuss details and get the ball rolling.  Petition the Father to lead and direct this effort.

TEAM SOCHI (BALTICS and EUROPEAN RUSSIA CLUSTER) request intercession for two volunteer teams coming this month.  The first is a WMU team coming to lead seminars in three locations to encourage and equip women to reach their lost neighbors, family members and friends.  The second team is from the BSU of the Air Force Academy.  They will be helping in an English Conversation Course.  Please intercede that these teams will be able to accomplish all that the Father has called them to do.
