Poles in Germany (PolesGrmny)

On the 7th of September, 1939, shortly after the breakout of World War II, the Nazi government of the 3rd Reich stripped the Polish community in Germany of its official minority status—it has never been restored even though the Polish minority in Germany (Polonia) is the second largest Polish minority in the world and the biggest in Europe. Polonia is divided into the “old” immigration from the WWII era and “young” ones from the Communist era. The majority of Poles inside and outside of Germany are Catholic, but most are, in practice, agnostic.

* Polonia, the concentration of Poles in Germany, is not the focus of any current evangelical work. Pray for German believers to be willing and have opportunity to reach the Polish community with the Gospel.

After Poland joined the EU, several orgs of Poles in Germany attempted to restore the pre-WWII official minority status. Pray Poles will be well treated in adopted country and to be receptive to evangelism.
