Today is “badnjak,” Christmas Eve for Croats. Many will be fasting in anticipation of celebrating Christmas tomorrow. However, for most this will be a mere form, a following of tradition rather than seeking after spiritual truth.

Pray for the country of Croatia. Pray for a mighty movement of the Holy Spirit, to bring about conviction, repentance, and salvation in this country of nearly 4.5 million persons.

Many Croats are very religious, but do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For them, Christianity is formal, mechanical system by which a distant God is appeased. Pray that God will open the hearts of the Croat people to a God who is near.

Please pray for the Croat people group, living in Croatia, southern Bosnia, and the “Diaspora” around the world. Predominantly Roman Catholic, Croats, like all people, need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
