The Roma are steeped in their own cultural identity and beliefs, but they are one of the most responsive groups to the Gospel throughout Europe. Pray for the same responsive spirit in Brazil. Pray for Bible studies to begin and for churches to be planted.

Oktoberfest in the Brazilian city of Blumenau attracts an average of 700,000 visitors every year, making it the second largest Oktoberfest in the world (Munich, Germany is the largest). Pray for opportunities during this festival for evangelism to be done by local believers. Pray for many to hear the Gospel and turn to Him for salvation.

Romany in Brazil

The Romany are typically persecuted and treated badly by their host cultures. Pray for the believers in Brazil to reach out to the Romany people group and to intentionally evangelize them in a culturally appropriate manner. Pray for the Roma to understand their need for a Savior and put their trust in Christ. .

The Germans were responsible for the spread of Protestantism in Brazil in the 1800s but today most are nominal in their faith and don’t have a real grasp of what it means to have a relationship with Christ. Pray for them to re-discover their religious heritage and turn, once again, to God.

Kalderash or Vlach Gypsies of Brazil number over 354,000. There is no evangelical church planting. Very mobile and ethnically separated, they have been difficult to reach. Pray for laborers among them and an open heart to the gospel.
