As the temperatures plunge here in Eastern Europe the smell of wood fires permeates the city. But other hearts and hearths are cold, frozen in the harsh reality of facing another long, dark and lonely winter. This is the reality for those without resources, without the money to buy wood or fuel. They scrounge what they can from the trash, rely on the cast offs of neighbors, or venture to the still mined hills to gather wood. The unprecedented snowfall last February opened the eyes of TEAM CROATIA (CENTRAL CATHOLIC CLUSTER) to the great need of firewood for so many people. Many were without electricity and water during this time and also without wood, since they could not afford to buy it. It was a cold and desperate time. With tear-filled eyes the locals would say how much this reminded them of the ‘90’s war…cold, lonely, trapped at home, trapped by fear and hopelessness. As firewood is distributed, please intercede that those receiving it will also receive the only Hope that can free them from their fear and loneliness. Petition that as the wood warms their bodies, this Hope will warm their hearts.
Please intercede for the Mama’s group that meets Thursday mornings and is led by a member of TEAM SLOVAKIA (CENTRAL CATHOLIC CLUSTER) and a Slovak believer. There are over 20 women, who are attending and they have decided to have two classes for the moms, so that the group is not so large and so they can have more personal time with each of the moms. There will be two special events that will be celebrated in December – St. Nicholas on Dec. 6 and Christmas with a gift exchange for the moms later in the month. Petition the Father to open many doors for spiritual conversations. Intercede that many will place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The EASTERN HUNGARY TEAM (CENTRAL CATHOLIC CLUSTER) shares, “A young friend, who attends our weekly coffee house is seeking for meaning and direction in life, but is starting down a dangerous road. All of our team senses that this could be a crucial time for him, and we believe that his heart may be softening. Intercede for good communication for us as we talk with him; petition for protection for him from the things he is getting involved in, and that he will understand and accept the Good News of Christ.”

The CENTRAL CZECH TEAM (CENTRAL CATHOLIC CLUSTER) asks that you petition the Father to send adults and students, who are receptive to the gospel to the City English Camp in Hradec Kralove (Nov. 5-9). Lift up the team of 14 from Arkansas that will seek to engage students in local schools and lead the city camp every afternoon. Ask that many will make decisions to follow the Son during this week. Pray for 4 follow-up opportunities including Gospel Community group, Bible discussion group, Youth Group, and Taste of Thanksgiving outreach. Ask for the Father’s continued blessing on the team’s partnership with Vysoke Myto B. C. that is committed to reaching the lost.
