UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP: Approximately 500,000 people live in the picturesque region of Südtirol (South Tyrol), which once belonged to Austria, but is now an Italian province. German continues to be the first language of 70% of the population. Dairy farms, apple orchards and grape vineyards dot the countryside. The area produces 10% of the total EU apple harvest and a variety of wines. South Tyrol boasts 17,000 km of walking and hiking trails, 600 km of bike paths, 400 castles and mansions, and 80 museums. Numerous churches and monasteries are nestled in the landscape – architectural treasures filled with art and history. Despite these symbols of religion, however, South Tyroleans are an unreached people, who need to hear and accept the gospel. Petition the Father to call workers to this field. Ask that there will be a bountiful harvest. “Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest” (Mt. 9:38).
