Tag: Lombards
Switzerland, a tiny country renowned for its Alpine beauty, is home to thousands of Lombards. This people group originated from the lower Elbe Valley in present-day Germany. Tacitus the historian referred to them as “Suebi” or “Swabians,” but they later intermarried with Italians in Lombardy, an area in northern Italy and southeastern Switzerland, and became known as Lombards. Almost all of them speak Italian, but they also continue to speak and read their own dialect. Intercede for evangelical work to be established among the Lombard in Switzerland. Petition that these people, identified by various names, will learn the descriptive names of the Lord and develop an intimate relationship with Him.
