Cleansing of Sin for Russians

During the dark winter months, much of Russia is covered by snow. Some snow storms are quite fierce and result in blizzard conditions called “white outs,” when all one can see is nothing but white. Intercede with the RUSSIAN CLUSTER that the dark condition of the hearts of the Russian peoples will be washed as white as snow thru the cleansing of sin by Jesus.

Russian New Year

Decorated trees and holiday lights were shining for the biggest holiday of the year in Russia. This big holiday was not December 25, which quietly came and went, but New Year’s Eve. The folks set up and decorated a tree. In some villages children dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for treats and at midnight fireworks light up the sky to welcome the New Year. The children awaken the morning of the first to find a gift under the tree that Father Frost left for them. Pray with the RUSSIAN CLUSTER for the peoples of Russia to seek and to find the greatest gift given, the gift of God’s only Son.

Ping-Pong Ministry in Moscow, Russia

The EUROPEAN SUB-CLUSTER (RUSSIAN CLUSTER) asks for intercession for a new ping-pong ministry at 2^nd Baptist in Moscow. Intercede that the leader of this ministry will have clear direction from the Father of how he can effectively reach the young people, who have been coming to play. Ask that these young people will make strong connections and develop friendships among the youth at 2^nd Baptist.

Meaningful Life for Russians

Several times during the week, Russian Orthodox church bells can be heard ringing in communities across Russia. But for the Russians of Central Asia, it’s the Iman’s voice, blaring over loud speakers located high in the minaret of a mosque that can be heard. Both are meant to remind people to go, pray, and worship. Some believe that these calls to prayer contribute to their cultural identity. Others cling to this cultural identity, even though these places of worship house nothing more than an “empty” religion. Please intercede with the RUSSIAN CLUSTER that the various people groups represented in their part of the world will realize that there is a difference between a religion in a building and a relationship with the Son. Petition that the people will experience a full and meaningful life with Christ without the confines of a life filled with rituals and religious traditions.

Russians in Central Asia

Just over 6 million Russians live and work all across Central Asia. Those living in five of those countries have had strict religious regulations imposed upon them. There are fewer than 25,000 Russian Baptists in Central Asia. Intercede with the RUSSIAN CLUSTER for these tenacious believers, who are living in these countries, to be wise in all they do. Pray for workers of the harvest to go and minister to the numerous Russians of Central Asia.

Follow Up in Vladivostok, Russia

Join members of the RUSSIAN CLUSTER in giving thanks for a team of 3 men, who gave of their time and resources to come and share the Good News in Vladivostok. Please intercede as Russian believers follow up with those who expressed interest in further Bible study. Petition that they will see new group members as a result of the team’s efforts. Also ask that the Russians, who participated with them, will carry this experience back to their churches and spread the Gospel wherever they go.

Discipleship Training in Russia

TEAM UFA (RUSSIAN CLUSTER) asks that we intercede for the 14 individuals, who participated in a Sept. training regarding small group ministry and starting of house churches. Ask that they each work with the Father in making disciples, so that new small groups and house churches naturally appear. Also remember 2 ladies, who are attending a special needs training conference Oct. 19-29. Pray that they, along with Team UFA, will be able to reproduce this training in all the local churches and reach this neglected segment of society.

“Sharing Jesus Without Fear” in Russia

Members of TEAM VLADIVOSTOK (RUSSIAN CLUSTER) write, “Preparations are continuing for “Share Jesus Without Fear“ and our group of Americans coming to do survey evangelism in October. Pray for open hearts, and God-ordained opportunities to share the gospel with folks and that this will result in long-term visible effects: individuals receiving Christ as their Lord and Savior and becoming involved in a local church and/or small group on a weekly basis. Intercede also that we will be protected from any influences that might hinder this work – interference from local authorities, logistical issues, spiritual forces, problems with church member relationships, weaknesses in our own personal relationship with the Son and with each other, interpersonal conflicts, etc. We are expecting the Father to do great things, but we need to be prepared, and we need your help! Please join with us in intercession.”

Summer Camps in Russia

Summer days are long in Russia, but the summer months are few. After several long, dark winter months, people of all ages love to be outdoors during these few weeks of warm sunshine. Summer camps are especially popular among young people so they can get lots of sun, fresh air and spend time with their friends. For this reason, evangelistic camps have been held all across the RUSSIAN CLUSTER and by summer’s end this season of seed sowing will be finished. Give praise for believers, who have partnered with Russian Cluster teams and given of their resources, time and energy to reach the lost by organizing and making these camps available to people of all ages. Praise God for the reports that many have made decisions to receive Christ. Petition the Father to continue blessing the workers in the fields until season’s end. Ask the Holy Spirit to nurture the seeds that have been planted in the hearts of the campers in order for the seeds to grow and bear fruit.
