The Billy Graham crusade, “My Hope” is taking place in Spain from Dec. 15-17. Intercede with members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER for much fruit to come from this event. 1,200 evangelical churches have already agreed to participate and they are asking believers to host people in their homes to view the broadcast. Then they are training them to do follow up in their homes Ask that this outreach will be a catalyst in seeing a new church planting movement in Spain.

New Believer in Seville, Spain

TEAM SEVILLE (SPAIN, WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) rejoices that a university student who has been coming to Connexxion events for well over a year, accepted Christ. She was not interested in the gospel initially, but continued to spend time with Team Seville and a few weeks ago prayed to receive Christ! Intercede that she will continue to be enthusiastic and that she will grow in her new faith.

Encouragement for workers in Seville, Spain

Intercede with TEAM SEVILLE (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) that they will not grow weary, when they don’t see fruit, but that they will keep investing, where they know the Father is working, especially with the school ministry. Lift up students, who are invited to a spiritual retreat (Conexxion) this month in Valencia, Spain. Ask the Father to provide what is needed for them to be able to attend.

Training Disciple Makers in Spain

The second training workshop for “Hacedores de Discipulos” (Disciple Makers) took place last month. Members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER in SPAIN now have 12 people, who will continue an eight to twelve week study in how to make disciples in preparation for the “Hogares Mateos” or Matthew Homes and the “Mi Esperanza” (My Hope) home group evangelistic emphasis in Spain. The charge to these 12 people is to immediately begin to disciple a new or “immature” believer, as they themselves continue their own preparation as disciple makers. They are to help others become disciple makers. Intercede that the participants will stay true to the task, that the Father will reveal to them whom they are to disciple, and that they will keep their eyes on the Son and remain steadfast.

New Basque Bible Studies

Members of the BASQUE TEAM (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) request intercession for the Basque believers, who are seeking to begin Bible studies in the Basque language this month. They are praying in faith for 3 groups and 20 people to attend. This is truly a God-sized prayer, so ask for a miracle. The Basque believers are beginning a cultural association, so they can have access to public spaces and other resources for the studies. Please lift up this effort.

Preparations for Evangelistic Emphasis in Spain

Preparations have begun for “Mi Esperanza” – a nationwide evangelistic emphasis that will take place in Dec. Give praise with members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER in SPAIN that 13 people attended the first training workshop. There was great participation and the spiritual atmosphere was very encouraging. The idea is not to just teach, but to train and show them how to make disciples and start groups. The expectation is for each of the participants to disciple someone else and to pray about hosting or participating in a home group to get the Gospel to where it isn’t. Intercede that cluster members will see Mark 4:8 become a reality,”… some seed fell and produced as much as thirty, sixty and as much as one hundred to one.”

Seeking God’s Guidance in Seville, Spain

TEAM SEVILLE (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) writes, “While it appears that many Spaniards just are not interested in spiritual things, intercede that the Holy Spirit will lead us to those who ARE “seeking” the truth. We know they are out there because we know that God is constantly at work, even in this spiritually dry country. Pray that we will continue to faithfully and boldly share.” Intercede, too, that the time they spent with university students in their homes over the summer will multiply and that the relationships will grow.

Discipleship in Spain

“Mi Esperanza” (My Hope) is a nationwide emphasis that will take place in December in Spain in conjunction with Billy Graham’s organization. Members of the WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER in SPAIN will be involved in the training of “disciple-makers,” who will then be expected to disciple others. The hope is that many small groups will result from the emphasis, as believers will host their not-yet-believer friends in their homes, watch a telecast and offer them the opportunity to begin the journey of following the Son. The hosts’ homes are called “Hogares Mateos” or “Matthew homes” and based on Jesus visiting Matthew’s home and encountering many of his not-yet-follower friends. Intercede that by October these cluster members will be able to begin discipling believers from two churches and a mission point, in preparation for this event.

VBS in Alcobendas, Spain

Pray for a member of the MADRID TEAM (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) as she prepares a VBS for children in Alcobendas that will take place Sept. 5-9. This was promoted during the Upwards Basketball Camp and the hope and prayer is that many kids, who came to the camp will come to VBS. Intercede for a good turn out and that the Father will continue to work in the lives of the children and parents there.

Beach Baptism in Seville, Spain

Celebrate with TEAM SEVILLE (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN CLUSTER) that their new community immersed four young people at the beach last month with about 35 folks coming out to see it. One of the university students, who came has been a seeker for many months. He felt God moving in his heart that day and less than a week later he accepted Christ and signed up for immersion this fall. Team Seville also requests that you intercede that the Father will send 2 or 3 college students to intern this fall and help with English classes that are already scheduled.
